Companion Care

Whenever we consider hiring someone as a caregiver we always start with this definition “A Caregiver is a person employed to accompany, assist or live with another in the capacity of a helpful friend”. We take this caregiver definition very seriously.

All of our caregivers are carefully screened and thoroughly background checked to ensure that only the most loving and supportive people are chosen to be part of our team. In addition all caregivers go through an extensive orientation program and have ongoing training.

Two levels of companion care are offered by From the Heart Elder Care:

  • Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) – these companions carry NJ State certification and can assist clients with both “hands-on” and “hands-off” care. Examples might include assistance with showering and dressing.
  • Companions – these trained caregivers assist with “hands-off” care. Examples might include acting as a sitter and general assistance with daily around-the-house activities.
