Saying goodbye to our beloved RD Edsall

RDsoIt is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our beloved friend, RD Edsall, on Monday, June 30th. RD was our sharp 92 year old client whom we loved and cared for so very much.  Needless to say, we will all miss him more than words can express. He was not just our client but our good friend as well.

Below is RD’s obituary and information for services:

 R. D. James Edsall, 92, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at Newton Medical Center. Born in Hardyston to the late R.D. Edsall and Edith (Kelley) Edsall, he had lived in Sussex County all of his life. Mr. Edsall had served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Edsall had been employed as an inspector for 20 years with Borden Dairy Company until 1968 when he became a health inspector with the Sussex County Health Department, retiring in 1987. Mr. Edsall was a member at the former Samaritan Lodge No. 98 in Hardyston for more than 50 years and was a current member of the Kittatinny Lodge. He also was a member of the Sussex Elks Lodge and the Colesville Fire Department. Mr. Edsall was predeceased by his wife, Jennie M. Swarts Edsall, in 1995. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy E. Osias and her husband, Gene, of Sussex; and his grandson, Michael James Osias and his wife, Bobbi Jo, of Westtown, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will immediately follow at Clove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 6.
